Christine’s Colour Run for Cancer Research

Hello everyone,

Many of you know Christine Shields, one of the clients at Physis, who has been working with me in therapy (permission to share) for three years now. Christine was only about a month in therapy with me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. Her ongoing therapy was then interrupted when I had to have the surgery and start adjuvant treatment in the July. Christine chose to remain in my services and we resumed ongoing therapy after my surgery etc. Over these three years, Christine has come far and is now wanting to give back to others, whilst continuing her personal growth.

She said she wants to do a fundraiser in honour of me and all who have been touched by cancer she said, and raise money for cancer charity. I am blown away and moved by this.

Christine is going to be doing the Dove House Hospice ‘Colour Run’ on August the 7th at East Park in Hull. The charity we have chosen together is Deborah James’ Bowelbabe fund for cancer research UK. Research is so needed. Deborah died on Tuesday 28th June and we are devastated by this news. She was a beacon of hope and light to so many touched by cancer and even in her death is continuing to raise money and awareness.

Below is a note from Christine, and where you can donate to sponsor her colour run if you feel inclined. If you are local, you could go and watch her!

From Christine:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Cancer Research UK, so it’s the most efficient way to give – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Warmest wishes,

Leighah, Hannah/Physis and Christine
